1. Learning outcomes for the programme:
The graduate:
• knows and understands the history of pedagogy as a scientific discipline, its key paradigms and core terminology;
• knows and understands the interdisciplinary nature of pedagogy, its applied character, the division into sub-disciplines and its relationship with other disciplines of science: philosophy, psychology, sociology and medicine;
• knows and understands the logic of research procedures in pedagogy, methods of research specific to pedagogy as well as those borrowed from other disciplines of social sciences and humanities, the principles of presentation and critical analysis of research findings;
• knows and understands the patterns of biological and psychological development of the human being and the methods of supporting this development;
• knows and understands the history, structure, functions and principles of care and education institutions as well as the methods of their design, reform and evaluation;
• is able to conceptualise pedagogical problems using known theories within the social sciences and humanities;
• can critically use a variety of sources of pedagogical knowledge, present various perspectives and compare them critically;
• can design and conduct a simple applied research study ( diagnosis, evaluation or action research) and communicatively present its results using information and communication techniques.
Competences:
Specialisation: Social and cultural animation
Students of social and cultural animation undertake their practice at institutions engaged in education and animation activities in the local community, as well as at other institutions, associations, foundations operating in the field of animation, education and culture. During practice, students shape their educational competence by:
1) getting acquainted with the specificity of the institution where the practice is taking place, including: getting to know the tasks carried out (e.g. the educational ones), the functioning of the institution, the process of fundraising, the organization of work of the participants and the employees of the institution, as well as the records kept;
2) observation of the actions taken by the tutor and other employees of the institution, the course of activity taken by the institution, the methods and forms of work, and processes of interpersonal and social communication;
3) participation in current activities of the institution, with particular emphasis on actions related to the organization of work, planning and carrying out of the activities, preparation of resources and materials;
4) analysis and interpretation of observed or experienced situations and events, with particular emphasis on keeping record of the course of practice, discussing the experience gained with other students, consultations with the tutor and the implementation of assigned tasks (e.g. making a diagnosis of the institution).

Competences:
During practice, students shape their didactic competence in working with adults by:
1) getting acquainted with the specificity of functioning of educational institutions in which adult education takes place, in particular by getting to know the methods, tools and techniques used during classes, the organisation of work and the records kept at the institution;
2) observing the organization of work and the course of the didactic processes (classes, courses, training), in particular establishing and maintaining interaction with the adult participants/learners, communication processes between the person conducting the activities and the participants, also between the participants, methods of group activation, organisation of educational space, as well as conducting evaluation.
3) cooperation with the tutor in the organisation of practice, the planning and approval of actions taken by the student at the institution, taking action for students in all problem cases related to security, violation of the rights of others, failure to observe the established rules;
4) analysis and interpretation of observed or experienced situations and events occurring during the educational process, in particular confronting the theoretical knowledge with practice and discussing the experience gained.

Specialisation: Development support and therapy
During practice, students shape their diagnostic, therapeutic, educational and didactic competence in working with children and youth with developmental disorders and disabled persons by:
1) getting acquainted with the specificity of functioning of educational and therapeutic institutions dealing with diagnosis, therapy and education of the disabled in conditions of integrated or inclusive education, in particular by getting to know the methods, tools and techniques used in the diagnosis and therapeutic, educational and didactic activities, the organisation of work and the records kept at the institutions.
2) observing the organisation of work, the course of diagnostic, therapeutic, educational and didactic activities, and in particular establishing and maintaining interaction with the disabled, the processes of communication between the person conducting the activities and the participants, also between the participants; getting to know the diagnostic, therapeutic and didactic methods and methods of activating the individual and the whole group, the organisation of the didactic space, as well as conducting evaluation.
3) cooperation with the tutor in the organisation of practice, the planning and approval of actions taken by the student in the institution, also in case of problems related to security, violation of the rights of others or failure to observe the established rules;
