Aerobics 4023-O-AER1
Training that uses modern workout routines:
– HI-LO: endurance training based on a combination of steps of various difficulty;
– TBC: body shaping workout based on simple step combinations and using strength exercises;
– STEP: exercise using an elevated platform and based on choreography of variable or fixed intensity;
– Stretching and relaxation exercise.
Aerobic exercise aims to:
– Develop awareness of one’s own body and improve its functioning;
– Strengthen all muscle groups;
– Enhance endurance, strength, flexibility and co-ordination;
– Encourage regular efforts to stay fit through the right choice of workout routines of adequate intensity.
Exercise is performed to music, sometimes with fitness equipment (weights, gymstick or step).

Learning outcomes
Students:
- will acquire the general knowledge of the human body and its functioning;
- will be able to exercise safely;
- will learn how to work in a team;
- will understand the need to stay fit in order to remain healthy;
- will be able to use sports equipment correctly;
- will develop special motor skills under the guidance of the Physical Education and Sports Centre’s staff.
Assessment criteria
The basis for passing the course is systematic and active participation in classes.
