Environmental Ethics 3800-ES23-S-OG
Seminar devoted to selected issues in environmental ethics considered from human-centred, animal-centred, life-centred and holistic perspectives (ecosystems). Following questions will be discussed: 1. Basic relation „man-nature”, 2. Pro-life standpoint versus antropocentrism, 3. Non-human beings as the subject of moral consideration, 4. The intrinsic value of nature (respect of Nature), 5. Needes of future generations, 6.Human duties and responsibilities with regard to natural ecosystems, 7. Moral rights of animals.
