Kazakh language and culture 3600-SJW-JIKK-OG(Z)

On the basis of text and audiovisual materials, students will learn oral and written communication, as well as vocabulary and grammar basics. Students will be able to understand the basic phrases and expressions most commonly used by users of the language (information about themselves, family, shopping, profession, places...). In a simple form they will be able to tell, write, ask questions and make requests about personal experiences, circumstances, etc, in a simple form. They will also be able to communicate in everyday situations using simple phrases. During the seminar the following issues will be discussed:

1. Basic phrases in Kazakh.

2. Names of objects from the immediate environment and creating simple sentences in Kazakh.

3. Learning the Kazakh alfabet version of Cyrillic (based on Russian)

4. Geography and history of Kazakhstan

5. Drinks and dishes in Kazakh cuisine.

6. State and religious holidays in Kazakhstan

7. Traditions and customs in Kazakh culture.

8. Customs and customs and Kazakh legends.

9. Polish people in Kazakhstan.

10. National costumes, musical instruments

11. The pretense of the world of Kazakh through the yurta

12. Renting of Kazakh lexis in Polish

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, participants will be able to understand basic phrases, be able to read Kazakh texts and understand them with the help of dictionaries. They will be able to formulate simple statements in oral and written form. They will know Kazakh culture and language.

Assessment criteria

Evaluation methods and criteria are as follows:

Activity (20%)

The abstract associated with the selected aspect of culture of the Kazakh (60%)

The lack of injustice in grade 5 means the loss of 20% of the assessment. Activity is estimated based on the interest students with the subject and participate in the discussions. The report should last 20 minutes.
