History of the Turkish Art 3600-PST-HST-OG

After completing the course and confirming the achievement of learning outcomes, the student is able to:

Explain the features of Islamic art that distinguish it from European art, and also indicate the main characteristics of Turkish art in the context of Islamic art.

Characterize the main branches of Turkish art.

Characterize the decorative system in Turkish art.

Identify works representing Seljuk art and subsequent stages of Ottoman art development.

Name and recognize the most important works of Seljuk and Ottoman architecture.

Recognize items representing Turkish artistic crafts, define their function and stylistic affiliation.

Evaluation as part of the knowledge exam acquired during the lecture and on the basis of the recommended literature.
Grading scale:
5.0 - very good knowledge of the material presented during the classes and on the basis of the recommended literature, very good reading in the literature on the subject, proficient use of the specialist methodology
4,5 - very good knowledge of the material presented during the classes and on the basis of the recommended literature, very good reading in the literature on the subject, proficient use of specialist methodology
4.0 - good knowledge of the material presented during the classes and on the basis of the recommended literature, good reading in the literature on the subject, good use of specialist methodology
3,5 - good knowledge of the material presented during the classes and on the basis of the recommended literature, sufficient reading in the literature on the subject, good use of the specialist methodology
3,0 - sufficient knowledge of the material presented during the classes and on the basis of the recommended literature, sufficient reading in the literature on the subject, sufficient use of specialist methodology
2.0 - insufficient knowledge of the material presented in class and on the basis of the recommended literature
