Common features of Islam and Chrstianity in Africa 3600-KM-ELIC-OG
The aim of the workshop is to present how two great religions - Islam and Christianity - function in Africa. Despite cultural diversity, there are many common features thanks to which African cultures create opportunities for coexistence of followers of both religions.
Using workshop methods, students will have the opportunity to learn and discuss the following issues:
- presentation of Islamized and Christian areas in Africa
- the influence of culture on religions
- the role of Sufism in Africa
- changes taking place in both religions and modern religious trends
- ways of social functioning in multi-religious African communities
- the role of terrorist groups from outside Africa
