How to teach Polish to foreigners 3221-S2-FBA-JPO-OG
During the classes we will discuss
- basic principles of creating a course plan for Polish as a foreign language (syllabuses, lesson outlines);
- principles of teaching grammar and vocabulary (techniques of teaching skills and subsystems of the language and issues related to realia);
- teaching aids for different levels;
- context of teaching Polish to immigrants from Eastern Europe (Byelorussians, Ukrainians, Russians);
- language policy and language education in EU countries (language certification);
- the place of culture in language teaching;
- language errors - analysis and therapy.

Learning outcomes
Upon the completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- develop a syllabus for a course in Polish as a foreign language for a given language level;
- prepare a lesson outline;
- distinguish the specificity of language teaching depending on a given target group (e.g. Slavic and non-Slavic);
- select appropriate teaching materials;
- use an appropriate teaching method;
- use appropriate techniques for mastering specific language skills;
- use linguistic errors in the teaching process.

- attendance in class;
- Activity during classes;
- oral credit on the basis of the issues covered in class.
99 - 100% - 5! (excellent)
93 - 98% - 5 (very good)
87 - 92% - 4,5 (good plus)
77 - 86% - 4 (good)
71 - 76% - 3,5 (sufficient plus)
60 - 70% - 3 (sufficient)
Less than 60% - 2.0 (fail)
2 absences from classes are allowed.
The conditions for a resit are the same.
