Dialectology 3221-S1-FBA-D32-OG
1. Subject, tasks, methods and the basic terms of dialectology.
2. The history and attainments of Belarusian dialectology.
3. Dialects in the territory of Belarus. The main dialects and dialects of Polesie . Dialectal characteristics of Polesie dialects.
4. North-eastern and south-western Belarusian dialect. Phonetic differences.
5. Morphological differences.
6. Lexical differences.
7. Groups of Belarusian dialects and the basic criteria of the division.
8. Central Belarusian dialects.
9. Belarusian dialects outside Belarusian borders.
10. The meaning of dialectology for the creation of the literary language.
11. Practical work with dialectal texts, dialectological atlas of the Belarusian language, recordings.

Student can take the final exam if (elements of marking):
- constant assessment (participation, activity during classes, project on text analyse) - 30%
- exam - 70%
Exam results:
60% - 68% - 3 (satisfactory)
69% - 77% - 3+ (rated satisfactory plus)
78% - 86% - 4 (good)
87% - 91% - 4+ (good plus)
92% - 97% - 5 (very good)
98% -100% - 5! (Very good with an exclamation mark)
Student can sit an exam for the second time in second session. The exam has the same form and condition as during first time.
Attendance at classes is mandatory. The student is entitled to 2 unexcused absences. Each additional absence requires the student to submit justification.
If the total number of unexcused and excused absences is more than half of the total number of class hours, this could be the basis for failure of the course.
