Elementary Course in Polish-Chinese Interpretation providing the student with the most rudimentary tools and strategies used in consecutive interpretation
The use of Artificial Intelligence tools, as well as online translators, is possible only when consulted with the lecturer. Without the teacher's approval, it is forbidden to utilize such tools.
In written assignments, it is necessary to point out all the fragments taken from other authors' works, e.g. from articles available online. Plagiarism is a serious academic offense.

Learning outcomes
The student understands the most crucial theoretical and practical problems related to various types of language interpretation. He/she is able to recognize and solve basic difficulties involved in Polish-Chinese consecutive interpretation. The student is aware of structural differences between both languages and is able to make use of them to interpret basic statements at B2 level after necessary preparations.
The student can understand and interpret the meaning of uncomplicated statements within the reach of his/her own language abilities and proficiency as well as present them in a form adequate to the situation and context.
The student is able to understand and interpret uncomplicated statements containing specialized vocabulary in the fields such as economics, politics, international relations, literature, history etc.
Assessment criteria
- Final test at the end of the course – 40%
- Attendance (only two unjustified absences from classes possible) – 20%
- Active participation in the discussions – 40 %
To obtain a course credit at the end of the semester, a student must show achievements in each of the above categories and pass the final test. A student who receives 0% in one category, will not receive a pass.
