Media and Celebrities 2700-MECE-OG
The lectures are devoted to the following topics:
• The definition of a celebrity and gossip
• Defining the concept of a media system, the press gossip, tabloid newspaper, tabloid, magazine.
• Printed Press - newspapers - devoted to celebrities: definition, specificity, leaders on the Polish and foreign
• Printed Press - Weeklies - dedicated to celebrities: definition, specificity, leaders on the Polish and foreign
• Printed Press - fortnightly - dedicated to celebrities: definition, specificity, leaders on the Polish and foreign
• Internet services - dedicated to celebrities: definition, specificity, leaders on the Polish and foreign
• Television - dedicated to celebrities: definition, specificity, leaders on the Polish and foreign
• Television programs focused on the lives of celebrities
• Photography and its role in shaping the image of celebrities in the media
• Legal aspects related to the formation of the image of celebrities in the media
• Marketing usage to shape the image of celebrities in the media
• the cultural aspect of this phenomenon (hero, hero, star)
• The importance of the role of computer graphics for the phenomenon
The lectures are also involved guests who talk about their work related to the topic: paparazzi, a specialist in shaping the media image, journalists from media institutions involved in describing the lives of celebrities.

Assessment criteria
Examination requirements:
Essay (DOC or PPT) on the use of the media by celebrities in order to shape its own image. OBJECTIVE: To familiarize with the knowledge that students gained in the classroom. Mainly will be assessed a multifaceted representation of the phenomenon.
