The nineteenth and twentieth century in the history of the Polish press against the backdrop of political events, social, cultural and civilization processes. Presentation of the most important newspapers and magazines, editors, publishers and publicists. The scope of freedom of speech and impact on the audience. The importance of the press from the point of view of the rulers and the ruled. Stability and changeability at the reception of public opinion.

Learning outcomes
Knowledge of basic issues from the history of the Polish press in connection with political, social and cultural changes taking place.
Skills regarding the identification of elements specific to certain contexts and universal principles of media operation, independent reflection on objectivity and subjectivity in the functioning of the press of the 19th and 20th centuries.
Competence in the analysis of contemporary media coverage based on the conclusions of the analysis of historical aspects.
