Specialized languages and journalistic texts – from weathet services to the Jargon of UE officials 2700-JSPD-OG
A workshop seminar devoted to the issue of the transposition of specialist texts for journalistic texts. During the course, students learn about various types of specialized languages (including their lexical and grammatical features) as well as the conditions and methods for processing such types of texts into a message available to a wider (non-specialized) group of recipients. During the workshop classes, direct consultations and work on authentic linguistic material are carried out, leading to the acquisition of logical skills, while taking into account the principles of simplicity and economy of the message, shaping journalistic statements based on information on various types of fields operating with specialist languages.

Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students:
KNOWLEDGE: He knows the lexical and grammatical features that distinguish specialist languages, as well as the principles of shaping journalistic statements based on specialist texts.
SKILLS: The student can recognize different varieties of specialized languages, indicate their distinctive features; knows how to create journalistic messages (different types of texts) based on information from specialist fields, with an indication of the importance and importance of the phenomena and problems described. He can evaluate and correct the results of his work.
OTHER COMPETENCES:
The student expands the vocabulary, improves the language skills, implements work norms in the group (editorial team), strengthens the sense of responsibility for his own statement and the effects of his work.
Assessment criteria
The final grade consists of the grade obtained for independent work consisting in creating 2 journalistic messages (any form: television, radio, written texts), one of which implements any information genre, the other - journalistic, and which are based on messages from a given field operating in a specialist language.
