Ethics aspects of natural disasters 1900-EAK-OG
Natural disasters are still a topical topic. They are associated with social losses due to natural hazards such as hurricanes, floods, earthquakes and tsunamis. Empathy. Actions that are a manifestation of sensitivity and indifference in the social sphere. Dualism. Moral hazard. Corruption. The universal nature of the problem. Questions about moral behavior in the face of this type of disaster. Ethics as contemporary challenges for reducing the risk of a natural disaster.
Student workload: 30 hours including: 15 hours lectures, 7 hours studying literature; 7 h preparation for the exam, 1 hour consultation.

Knowledge:
the student knows the key definitions of terms relevant to the issue and the paradigms.
Skills:
Is able to indicate behaviors and actions related to natural hazards and natural disasters requiring the application of ethical principles; knows how to connect actions with social effects; asks constructive questions that are the essence of improving moral behavior in the face of a natural disaster; identifies "weaknesses" in reducing the risk of natural disasters in the social area; indicates the dualism of behavior and actions in the socio-economic area.
Competences:
Understands the complexity of the problem of behavior and actions taken in the face of natural hazards and a natural disaster; understands the legitimacy of applying the principles of ethics in various social groups in the face of natural hazards and natural disasters, understands the role of ethical principles in reducing social losses caused during a natural disaster.
Attitude: An attitude based on moral development resulting from understanding the issue of ethical challenges accompanying natural disasters and related phenomena.

Passing the lectures:
written (answer to one question out of two); passes 60% of the correct answer.
During the epidemic, the test takes place online.
