The prevention of sexual harassment at the university 0000-PMSnU-OG
Prevention of sexual harassment at University is an interactive e-course that you will go through on your own.
During the course, you will learn what sexual harassment is, what forms it can have and who most often experiences it. You will also discover the issues related to the concept of consent - given with full knowledge. The course will conclude with a section dedicated to self-evaluation. In that section, male and female students will reflect on their daily behaviour while checking whether the environment in which they function is safe as a working and learning environment.
The course consists of 4 modules:
1. Definitions and fundamental issues related to sexual harassment. Legal contexts, EU and Polish regulations as well as the application of the law in practice. Examples of sexual harassment.
2. The concept of consent. In this module, you will learn about the origin of the term, what influenced its evolution and how it affects the social, political and moral dimensions of sexual harassment. You will also find out how different stereotypes influence our perception of this phenomenon.
3. Rape culture. In this module you will be introduced to the concepts of sexist hate speech, sexualised cyberbullying, sexualisation of women and girls as well as mansplaining. Each of these phenomena is related to sexual harassment and sexism.
4. Responding to sexual harassment, which demonstrates how to act against this phenomenon at the University of Warsaw. What can you do when you're experiencing or witnessing this kind of situation? We will answer the questions on how to use the pathways to respond and report sexual harassment cases at the UW and outside of it.
Registration for the Prevention of sexual harassment at University course is carried out through the Kampus platform of the Digital Competence Centre of the University of Warsaw.
