Upon completion a student can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure etc; s/he can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst traveling in area where the language is spoken; s/he can produce simple connected text on topics are familiar or of personal interest; s/he can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans
Term 2024L:
Online classes (46 hours via the internet and 14 hours online synchronously on Zoom or Google Meet). After completing a course at this level, the student is able to understand longer spoken texts, lectures, and even complex discussions, provided the topic is familiar. They can understand most news and TV programs about current events. They understand films in their original version if the actors speak in standard literary language. They understand articles and reports on contemporary issues where the authors express detailed opinions and arguments. They are able to understand contemporary literary prose. The student can communicate fluently and spontaneously, which enables normal interaction with native speakers. They can actively participate in discussions, explaining and defending their opinions. They can present clear and detailed descriptions on a wide range of topics related to their interests. They can express their opinion on a given topic, presenting arguments for and against. They are able to write clear and precise texts on topics related to their interests. They can write a short essay or report conveying information or presenting arguments for and against. They can write a letter conveying the essence and significance of personal experiences and impressions. |

The following constitute the final grade:
- students' work on the Internet platform: 50%
- progress tests: 20%
- final test: 20%
- participation in classes: 10%
