Objectives of classes in the area of listening comprehension:
1. developing students' auditory perception skills in relation to various types of audio materials included in the textbook and authentic materials, using materials accompanying FLE methods
2. practicing selective listening skills to short materials, focused on selecting the most important information (taking notes, linking important information in order to present it in the form of an organized oral statement)
3. practicing the ability to develop the content discussed in the recording
4. practicing the ability to recognize forms of colloquial language and distinguish forms used in spoken and written language.
Objectives of classes in the area of reading comprehension:
1. developing the ability to read with comprehension, using various types of texts included in the textbook
2. familiarizing students with reading strategies necessary for developing the ability to understand original texts and practicing the ability to adapt the form of reading to the purpose of reading
3. developing students' competences that condition reading with comprehension, namely: grammatical, lexical and pragmatic competences; practicing the ability to extract the most important information from a text and organize it in the form of a plan.
Objectives of the classes in the area of developing speaking skills:
1. developing students' skills in the area of:
- formulating questions and precise answers
- conducting a conversation (also by phone) on topics related to everyday life
- presenting one's own opinion on topics covered by the discussed texts and recordings from the
textbook and others
- presenting a short statement based on the topics covered in the text or recording
- taking part in a discussion (defending one's own opinion, specifying thoughts, opposing opposing opinions);
2. practicing the ability to make a coherent oral statement on a selected topic in a foreign language while simultaneously checking linguistic and phonetic correctness at a level appropriate to the level of language proficiency. Objectives of the course in the development of writing skills:
1. to familiarize students with appropriate patterns, the analysis of the structure of which will allow them to master writing short letters, short descriptions, stories, texts presenting their own point of view on a given topic and with a specific structure
2. to introduce students to exercises involving the correction of language errors, to develop and deepen students' knowledge of grammatical and stylistic correctness through transformational exercises.

Assessment criteria
1. Course Completion Requirements
A prerequisite for being allowed to complete the course is attendance in classes (a maximum of two unexcused absences per semester is permitted); exceeding this limit results in the student repeating the course.
An additional requirement is the timely completion of all partial assignments scheduled for in-class sessions and for independent study.
The final grade is determined on the basis of the results obtained using the accepted assessment methods and criteria, according to the specified weightings (section 2).
2. Assessment Methods
1. Oral performance at the end of the semester
(30% of the final grade; assigned topics prepared at home; CEFR A2; learning outcomes: S2_U04, K_U11, K_U12)
Content based on textbook chapters and additional materials prepared by the instructor:
short independent statement, thematic presentation – 3 minutes
description of places
expressing opinions, preferences and emotions (“I like / I don’t like”, “I think that…”)
situational dialogue (e.g., at the doctor’s)
reacting with short responses to others’ opinions (“Yes, I agree”, “You’re wrong”)
2. Semester tests (3x)
(60% of the final grade; include grammar, vocabulary, listening, reading, writing; CEFR A2; S2_U04, K_U11, K_U12)
• Homework – recorded and checked orally at the beginning of each class; completing the full set of assignments increases the final grade by 10% (S2_U04, K_U12, K_K01).
3. Assessment Criteria and Point Weighting
Oral performance (20 points):
content – 3 pts; grammatical accuracy – 5 pts; vocabulary range – 5 pts; phonetic accuracy – 4 pts; structure and coherence – 3 pts.
Pass from 12 points (60%). Weight: 30% of the final grade.
Written production in tests (20 points):
content – 3 pts; grammatical accuracy – 8 pts; vocabulary range – 6 pts; structure and coherence – 3 pts.
Pass from 60% of the points in the test.
Tests (total):
three tests, including the third as a comprehensive test; pass from 60% of total test points. Weight: 60% of the final grade.
Homework:
full set of assignments = +10% added to the final grade.
As part of the NJF course, supplementary classes are provided—30 hours in total—which serve as additional support. These include online sessions with the instructor and self-study tasks completed independently by the student. Students are assigned to these classes by the NJF course coordinator based on an analysis of their progress in NJF classes. Every student assigned by the NJF coordinator is required to attend 80% of the online meetings.
