The course aims to familiarize students with the culture, history, and literature of Mauritius, with a special emphasis on contemporary Franco-Mauritian literature, through the analysis of selected novel excerpts from the late 20th and early 21st centuries, including texts by Ananda Devi and Nathacha Appanah – both recipients of numerous literary awards. |
