Upon completion of the course at this level, the student will be able to understand basic expressions concerning himself/herself, his/her family and his/her immediate environment, provided they are pronounced slowly and clearly. In written text, he/she will understand basic words, names and simple sentences. The student will be able to communicate in a simple way as long as the interlocutor is prepared to repeat what he/she wants to say at a slower pace and help him/her formulate what he/she wants to say. S/he will be able to ask and answer questions related to everyday life and his/her own needs. Will be able to use simple phrases and sentences to describe where s/he lives, where s/he comes from and to introduce other people. Be able to write a short, simple text, for example a holiday greeting, and fill in a form with personal data.
