COMMUNICATION SKILLS FOR ACCOUNTING 4024-CSFA-OG
A practical communication course in the area of accounting focused on presenting and practicing language in context. It familiarizes students with the language of the authentic documents used in accounting and finance. It provides opportunities for students to practice intercultural communication and skills such as participating in meetings, making small talk, telephone conversations, presenting. It enables students to use effective politeness strategies and active listening strategies in the business context.

-After completing the course a student will be able to:
- distinguish between a formal and informal register
- communicate appropriately in a variety of professional situations and contexts
- use effectively expressions and vocabulary connected with accounting in meetings, presentations, on the phone or making small talk
- explain and clarify information, procedures, requirements using polite language
- write effective emails in the intercultural context
Assessment criteria
1. The result of short tests of legal vocabulary and expressions (35%)
2. The result of final test 30%)
3. Active class participation and home assignments (35%)
During the resit examination session students are allowed to resit the test.
The resit test date will be determined by the teacher
