Triathlon Section 4023-S-TRIA
Triathlon is a multi-discipline sport consisting of swimming, cycling, and running.
Classes/trainings will be held in all three disciplines and supplemented with general fitness exercises. The weekly schedule will include two swimming sessions and one outdoor session (either running or cycling, alternately).
Swimming will take place twice a week in a 25-meter pool. Classes will be adapted to the student’s needs and skill level.
Cycling sessions will take place at least once every two weeks. They will include elements such as: riding technique, group riding skills, and triathlon transition techniques.
Running sessions will also take place at least once every two weeks. These classes will focus on running strength, proper technique, and determining training intensity zones.
Classes will also include a theoretical component, covering topics such as triathlon training theory, race-day and pre-race nutrition, proper equipment selection, and correct bike setup and positioning.
During triathlon sessions, students will also have the opportunity to receive practical advice from the instructor.

Learning outcomes
Students:
- will acquire the general knowledge of the human body and its functioning;
- will be able to exercise safely;
- will learn how to work in a team;
- will understand the need to stay fit in order to remain healthy;
- will be able to use sports equipment correctly;
- will develop special motor skills under the guidance of the Physical Education and Sports Centre’s staff.
Assessment criteria
The PE credit is earned for regular attendance and active participation in training sessions.
