Table tennis 4023-S-TENS
For competitive players, exercises aimed to improve general fitness, particularly speed, co-ordination and game efficacy based on training of technical skills and game elements as well as test games.
For talented amateurs, training sessions are less intensive and of less technical difficulty, improving offensive strokes, blocks, defensive strokes and serves, depending on the individual ability.
Each member of the section may consult the coach for their own training programme in terms of both type and volume of exercises.
The best athletes are eligible for a sports scholarship, the primary criterion being the result achieved in the key event.

Learning outcomes
Students:
- will acquire the general knowledge of the human body and its functioning;
- will be able to exercise safely;
- will learn how to work in a team;
- will understand the need to stay fit in order to remain healthy;
- will be able to use sports equipment correctly;
- will develop special motor skills under the guidance of the Physical Education and Sports Centre’s staff.
Assessment criteria
In case of those competing for the university, proper work effort and participation in sport events are required to earn a PE credit, while talented amateurs are assessed on their activity and attendance at the number of classes agreed upon with the coach.
