Brazylijskie jiu jitsu (BJJ) 4023-P-BRAJ1
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a fighting style and self-defense art that focuses mainly on ground techniques and opponent control. The main idea of BJJ is to use joint locking techniques, chokes and control positions to overpower and submit an opponent, regardless of the difference in physical strength.
The basic elements of BJJ include:
- ground positions: In BJJ, great attention is paid to ground techniques and positions. The training focuses on mastering various positions such as guard, half-guard, side control, mount, as well as reverses and threat avoidance.
- joint levers: BJJ uses various joint lever techniques, such as armbar, shoulder lock (kimura), leg lock or rear-naked choke. The goal is to control your opponent and exploit their weaknesses to gain an advantage.
- choking: BJJ includes many choking techniques that are designed to make an opponent submit by constricting or stopping the flow of air or blood. Examples are cross choke, rear-naked choke and guillotine choke.
- defense and avoidance: BJJ also focuses on defensive techniques and avoiding threats. The training includes learning how to defend against chokes, joint locks, and how to avoid traps and maintain a safe position.
BJJ is a sport that engages both the mind and body. BJJ training emphasizes technique, precision and control rather than relying solely on physical strength. BJJ is developed as an effective form of self-defense, as well as a competitive sport, where competitors compete in tournaments and competitions, using BJJ techniques to control and subdue their opponents.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) training, in addition to technical and fitness aspects, supports:
- building self-confidence and mental skills: BJJ training requires concentration, patience and perseverance. By overcoming difficulties, developing technical skills and facing challenges, a person practicing BJJ strengthens their self-confidence and acquires mental skills that transfer to other aspects of life.
- Community and friendships: BJJ creates a strong community where you can meet new people and make lasting friendships. Joint training, partnership and mutual support during training help build positive relationships.
It is worth emphasizing that each person has their own reasons for training BJJ. Regardless of your motivation, BJJ training offers many benefits for physical and mental health, self-defense, and developing interpersonal skills.
