Boxing 4023-P-BOKS
Fist fighting is one of the oldest sports. It was practised in ancient Greece and Rome. However, competitive fights were very brutal and even ended in death sometimes. The initial fights went with few rules and did not have a lot in common with modern boxing. The latter was born in 1719 in England. Owing to Jack Broughton, boxing was codified in the second half of the 18th century, when the basic rules of this sport were introduced. Since 1867, fighters have been required to wear gloves. Boxers are known for speed, pinpoint accuracy, superb motor co-ordination, good reflexes, outstanding focus, muscle strength, determination, strategic thinking, self-confidence and humbleness to both the craft and the opponent.
