Swimming – intermediate level 4023-O-PŁYW2
During classes, students will:
– perfect their technique in three competitive swimming strokes: freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke
– learn butterfly stroke
– improve their motor skills
– develop the awareness of safety issues in the open water or a swimming pool
– learn techniques of starting dives and turns
– learn some elements of water polo.

Learning outcomes
Students:
- will acquire the general knowledge of the human body and its functioning;
- will be able to exercise safely;
- will learn how to work in a team;
- will understand the need to stay fit in order to remain healthy;
- will be able to use sports equipment correctly;
- will develop special motor skills under the guidance of the Physical Education and Sports Centre’s staff.
Assessment criteria
Student:
- regularly participates in classes,
- can swim without stopping for 30 minutes,
- can take part in short distance competitions (50 m).
