Judo – advanced groups 4023-O-JUDO2
To ensure the health and safety of students during advanced judo classes, consultation with a sports medicine doctor will be required. Classes will begin with general training, promoting harmonious development of the body and preparing for specialist training.
Students will learn:
– methods for developing strength and general endurance
– methods for improving flexibility in order to effectively increase the mobility in shoulder and hip joints and maintain the mobility of the spine
– new techniques (and perfect the ones they have learnt before)
– hand throws (te-waza), hip throws (koshi-waza), foot throws (ashi-waza) and sacrifice throws (sutemi-waza)
– combinations of techniques in attacks
– study trends in the development of particular techniques and their combinations.
Students will be also able to perfect their skills and learn new techniques applied from a non-standing position (ne-waza). Furthermore, they will study sport judo rules and their referee interpretations. The intermediate judo classes will enable students to compete in sports events that match their skills: internal club tournaments for all groups, ‘First Step’ tournaments for students of Warsaw universities as well as the University Championships of Warsaw, the Mazovian Region and Poland.

Students:
- will acquire the general knowledge of the human body and its functioning;
- will be able to exercise safely;
- will learn how to work in a team;
- will understand the need to stay fit in order to remain healthy;
- will be able to use sports equipment correctly;
- will develop special motor skills under the guidance of the Physical Education and Sports Centre’s staff.
