Learning outcomes

Upon completing the course students should:
- know the main 20th-century concepts related to language and social communication
- be able to identify major communication strategies, e.g. related to gender, social status, etc.
- be able to explain and describe the main indicators governing social communication today

Assessment criteria

Checking students’ abilities in terms of the planned effects of learning
Continuous assessment (being prepared for class and active participation) 20%
Final oral test or oral exam 30%
A presentation on one of the course topics 50%
