The Philosophy of History in Patristic and Medieval Thought 3800-FDPS26-S-OG
The aim of the class is to introduce the main ideas of patristic and medieval reflection on the meaning of history. We shall concentrate on the ananlysis of this theme in the works by Augustine, Joachim of Fiore and Bonaventure. We shall also consider the similarities and dissimilarities between their theology of history and the philosophy of history developed in the early modern period.
