Fyodor Dostoevsky's Metaphysical Experiments 3800-EMFD24-M-OG
First, the subject of the relationship between philosophy and literature (especially novels) will be discussed, and then various approaches to Dostoyevsky's work, with particular emphasis on the idea of a polyphonic novel as well as metaphysical-anthropological sources and the consequences of selected plots and characters from Dostoyevsky's novels. With regard to Tolstoy's works, his religious and moral treatises will be emphasized. Biographical threads will also play a significant role in relation to both authors.

Learning outcomes
Acquired knowledge: Students will gain expanded knowledge of the relationship between fiction and philosophy, as well as Russian culture and thought against the background of universal culture; they will know and understand selected trends and positions in this field;
Acquired skills: Students will develop the ability to analyze, evaluate, select and integrate information relating to the relationship (and differences) between literature and philosophy; they will be able to indicate and consider complex philosophical problems on specific and detailed material, make theses and critically comment on them;
