After a course at this level, the student can understand the main point of a clearly worded standard statement on a topic familiar to them, related to work, school, leisure time, etc. They can understand the most important information in radio and TV programmes about current events, or topics related to personal or professional interests, when the speech is quite slow and clear. They can understand texts containing the most frequently used expressions related to everyday life and work. They can understand descriptions of events, feelings and wishes in private letters. They can cope with most situations likely to arise when travelling in countries of the same language area. They can participate without preparation in conversations on topics familiar and interesting to them, or related to everyday life (e.g. family, interests, work, travel and current events). They can combine words and expressions in a simple way to describe experiences and events, their dreams, hopes, ambitions. They can give reasons and explanations, formulate opinions and plans. They can tell a story, report the content of a film or book, or describe their reactions. They can write a simple, coherent text on a topic familiar or interesting to them. Can write a personal letter describing experiences and impressions.

Assessment criteria
a.
The following elements constitute the credit for the language course:
activity during classes: 25% of the grade
results of tests, partial tests, homework: 25% of the grade
result of the final test: 50% of the grade
b. To obtain a positive grade, you must demonstrate achievements in relation to each of the above-mentioned categories (a student who receives 0% in any category will not receive credit).

Grading scale
99 – 100% 5! (excellent)
93 – 98% 5 (very good)
87 – 92% 4+ (good plus)
77– 86% 4 (good)
71 – 76% 3+ (sufficient plus)
60 – 70% 3 (sufficient)
d. For passing the 60-hour language course, i.e. achieving the assumed learning outcomes, the student receives 2 ECTS. e.
For completing a 30-hour course, i.e. achieving the intended learning outcomes, the student receives 1 ECTS.

In the case of 60-hour courses, you can miss 6 hours of classes without an excuse. In the case of 30-hour courses, you can miss four hours of classes without an excuse.
