After this course:
Students will understand the main idea of a clearly formulated text in literary language on a topic they are familiar with and encounter at work, school, in their free time, etc.
They will understand the most important information in radio and TV programmes about current events or topics related to personal or professional interests, when the speech is rather slow and clear
They can understand texts containing the most frequently used expressions related to everyday life and work.
They can understand descriptions of events, feelings and wishes in private letters
They can cope with most situations that may arise when travelling when they come into contact with spoken language.
They can participate without preparation in conversations on topics that are familiar and interesting to them or related to everyday life (e.g. family, hobbies, work, travel and current events)
They can combine words and phrases in a simple way to describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions.
They can give reasons, causes, explain plans and express their opinion. They can tell a story or relate the content of a film or book or describe their reactions.
Can write a simple text, made up of complex sentences, on a topic that is familiar or interesting to them.
Can write a personal letter describing experiences and impressions.

4. narrates past, present and planned events relating to his/her own life, both orally and in writing, using basic vocabulary
5. understands and paraphrases information, instructions referring to tasks, including test tasks, which he/she has read or heard, sums up and draws conclusions

Assessment criteria
a.
The following elements constitute the credit for the language course:
activity during classes: 25% of the grade
test results, partial tests, homework: 25% of the grade
final test result: 50% of the grade
b. To obtain a positive grade, you must demonstrate achievements in relation to each
of the above-mentioned categories (a student who receives 0% in
any category will not receive credit).

Grading scale
99 – 100% 5! (excellent)
93 – 98% 5 (very good)
87 – 92% 4+ (good plus)
77– 86% 4 (good)
71 – 76% 3+ (sufficient plus)
60 – 70% 3 (sufficient)
d. For passing the 60-hour language course, i.e. achieving the assumed learning outcomes,
the student receives 2 ECTS. e.
For completing a 30-hour course, i.e. achieving the expected learning outcomes,
the student receives 1 ECTS.
f.
In the case of 60-hour courses, you can miss 6 hours of classes without
excuse. In the case of 30-hour courses, you can miss four hours of classes without
excuse
