Workshop:Public speaking and rhetoric in an intercultural envi 3600-KM-WPRSM-OG

The aim of the workshop is to strengthen public speaking skills and show the structure of effective self-presentation in various international and intercultural
environments.
The following will be discussed:
1. Ways of effective selection of the content of speeches, taking into account the gender, age, religion, social class and professional sector of the speaker and
listeners from African and Oriental countries.
2. Popular ways to reach the imaginations of African, Middle Eastern and Asian listeners by appealing to local cultural values.
3. Selection of clothes, external attributes, use of body language to emphasize the message depending on the specificity of public speaking, taking into account the
characteristics of the recipient.
4. Issues of diction, intonation and voice modulation, the importance of silence and pause when speaking.
5. Issues related to props and technical equipment
The workshop exercises will focus on the use of theoretical knowledge, choosing the form of a speech, prepare short speech and to present its sample to the group. Each presentation will be assessed and then analyzed together with the other participants.
