Symbols of Power in Africa 3600-AF-SWA-OG
The subjects of the seminar will be symbols of power, ritual and ceremony in Africa. They will also deal with the change in the legitimation of power and symbols of power, mostly under European and modern influence. The discussion will be based on source material including texts and iconography. The source material will provide a different perspective – both from outside and from within African societies.
