Chosen Aspects of Linguistics Research 3304-2D1O-WPWJ-055
The course, aiming to introduce practical analyses, will concern the fields of linguistics in which are working the researchers from the Institute of French Studies, Department of Linguistics. The students will examine different sorts of material - written and oral productions, Internet communication, databases, dictionaries. According to the subject chosen for the given year, they will conduct analyses according to the lecturer's indications and the proposed texts to read.
The possible fields of study are phonetics, phonology, lexical emantics, morphology, history of French language, computational linguistics, sociolinguistics, discours analysis, translation.

Learning outcomes
The student has a more profound knowledge of selected research fields in linguistics and of their recent developments (K-WO6).
He/she is able to discuss linguistic issues, using notions of different reserachers and his/her own ideas, and to formulate succint conclusions (K-U)^).
He/she regularly evaluates his/her kowledge level, undestands the need to continue education and personal development; can establish the of his/her competence in different , improves himself/herself, ans is able to support other people in the competences mentioned above.
Assessment criteria
Activity, participation to discussions, a short presentation, a written test.
Student may only be absent twise without justification. With three he writes an additional question during the test. Four mean the course is not completed.
The form and criteria of completion may change, depending of the epidemic or other threat, according to guidelines in the University of Warsaw, and as agreed with the students,
