Selected texts of French humanities of XX century 3304-1DPXW-KHK-05-OG
Classes will be devoted to translating and discussing selected texts of French humanities. Their primary goal will be to familiarize them with the vocabulary of contemporary humanities in French. Based on the texts of authors such as Michel Foucault, Philippe Ariès, Roland Barthes, René Girard, Jean Starobinski, Simone de Beauvoir and others, important topics in the history of ideas will be analyzed: family, women,death, madness, exclusion, sacred, power and punishment. Scholars' theses will be confronted with short literary texts on the issues discussed. Basic knowledge of the French language is required.

Assessment criteria
Credit based on active participation in classes and a test.
