Learning outcomes
Students are able to recognise different historical, literary, linguistic and philosophical concepts from the past and present concerning the human-animal relationship.
-relationships of the German studies major with other sciences (K_W02)
- notions and principles of intellectual property protection and copyright and the necessity of intellectual property management (K_W03)
-terminology, theory and methodology of Germanic linguistics and literary studies of the countries of the German language area at extended level (K_W05)
- contemporary achievements of research centres and schools, including Germanic linguistics and literary studies of the countries of the German language area (K_W06)
Students are able to:
- apply the acquired research skills, including a critical analysis of cultural and social phenomena of the countries of the German language area, a synthesis of various ideas and views, the selection of methods and the construction of research tools, the development and presentation of results, including advanced information technologies, while observing the principles of ethics, allowing for an original solution of complex problems in the field of literary studies of the German language area (K_U01)
- acquire knowledge in the field of German studies independently, broaden their research skills and undertake autonomous actions aiming at the development of their abilities and directing their own professional career (K_U02)
- use the acquired linguistic skills in understanding and producing oral and written texts using professional terminology (K_U03)
The student is ready to:
- respect the rules concerning the protection of intellectual property and copyright (K_K03)
- critically evaluate their knowledge and received content, recognizing the importance of knowledge in solving cognitive and practical problems (K_K05)
Assessment criteria
Attendance and activity in class. Written work/presentation/test.
COMMENTS
1) A medical exemption does not exempt you from knowing the material. It only entitles you to an individualised form of assessment.
2) Those who have been granted permission for an individual course of study are required to report to the course tutor in order to determine how all learning outcomes assigned to the course are to be met.
