E-commerce in practice - Launching online sales 3302-ECOMP-OG
The course "E-commerce in practice - Launching online sales" guides you step by step through the steps of building and launching an e-business in the form of an e-shop or website.
Specific objectives are:
- to learn the details of how e-business works in two variants: indirect (classic with online sales) and direct (online only)
- discussion of the four key stages of starting e-commerce sales for physical goods, services and other products, including digital products (e-books etc.)
- practical analysis of selected examples of real e-businesses in terms of implementation of e-commerce sales, i.e. analysis of websites, web positioning, etc.
- practice basic implementation activities for selected types of e-commerce sales (e-businesses) according to the e-commerce sales implementation template (target group, product, sales system, complementary systems, paperwork, etc.)
The course programme includes:
1. Target group and product selection (market analysis), including strategic positioning of the business online and SEO optimization
2. Building an e-commerce system, including selection of the sales system (SaaS, open source) and key supplementary systems (delivery, payment, analytics, e-mail marketing, etc.)
3. Sales security measures (SSL certificate, rules and regulations, privacy policy, GDPR) in accordance with contemporary formal and
legal requirements
4. Construction of a basic promotion system (Google search network, Google display network, Facebook service, others)

The course participants can:
- perform a market analysis and select a target group and product
- design strategic online business positioning, including SEO activities
- design an e-commerce system, including selection of a sales system and key supplementary systems
- take sales security measures (rules and regulations, privacy policy, consent mechanism compliant with GDPR)
- plan a basic promotion system
Assessment criteria
The basis for verification of knowledge from the course will be:
- evaluation of sub-tasks available after selected modules of the course
- evaluation of the final project, i.e. analysis of the selected e-business or design of your own e-business created on the basis of the e-commerce sales implementation template
