Online business - Strategy, e-commerce, marketing 3302-BwS-SEM-OG
As part of the course, we want to learn about examples of businesses, companies, organisations, institutions and other entities that use the vast possibilities of the digital world in their commercial (business) or non-commercial activities.
Based on real-life examples, we want to learn about the most important stages, principles and tools for launching and running an online business.
The specific objectives of the course are:
- understanding what effective contemporary online activity, both commercial and non-commercial, entails,
- understanding the digital opportunities available to businesses, companies, non-commercial organisations, institutions or other types of entities,
- learning about the key stages, principles and tools of launching, implementing and optimising online activity,
- understanding the most important decision-making areas of online activities, including business and marketing strategy, online technology, e-commerce sales tools, marketing and promotion,
- acquiring the ability to use knowledge from key decision-making areas for your own purposes.
The key topics are:
- business and marketing strategy for online business,
- technology to use for your online presence (i.e. website),
- e-commerce sales tools,
- marketing and promotion in online business.
The use of generative AI tools, such as ChatGPT, is permitted for selected tasks carried out during classes. Any such use must be properly described and/or cited. The course participants are responsible for all content generated using AI tools.

The course participants:

Assessment criteria
The basis for verification of knowledge:
- evaluation of sub-tasks available after selected modules of the course
- evaluation of the final project, i.e. analysis of the selected online business or design of your own online business created on the basis of available templates
