Knowledge:
After completing the course the student: knows the history of Latin American literature, with particular emphasis on 20th century literature. He knows the principles of periodization of this literature, features characteristic for individual epochs. He knows the most important aesthetic tendencies of successive epochs and knows what works implement them. He knows the most important works of Latin American literature and the socio-political and cultural conditions of the specificity of national literatures, which results, on the one hand, from the historical and literary process, and on the other, from a specific political context, which illustrates the influence of such events on the literature as the Mexican or Cuban revolution. He knows the social, political, cultural and linguistic realities of Latin American countries, disclosed, for example, in autobiographical works and their assessments formulated in these works. He knows the theories of the novel and other genres of prose formulated by writers and critics from the field of literature
Skills:
After completing the course, the student: Reads, understands and interprets literary works in their formal and linguistic as well as formal and genre level, linguistic, formal and semantic nuances, finds irony, ambiguity and language games. He interprets the text and discourse from many perspectives, carries out its in-depth analysis. Applies the acquired theoretical and literary knowledge to the analysis of specific works. Recognizes literary techniques known from theoretical works in read literary texts. Presents his own position and the results of his own oral and written analyzes.
Social competence
After the end of the course: He can find himself culturally in Latin American environments. Can formulate and present his own views. Can discuss with other people's views in a manner appropriate for an academic discussion. Respects the opinion of others and the intellectual property of others
