Practical learning of the Russian language - B2+ 3222-PR1C[B2]-OG
During the course, the student will acquire the ability to fluently and spontaneously communicate in Russian. In addition, they will learn to write and speak clearly on a wide range of topics, broadening their knowledge regarding the issues in question. The student will take part in discussions and learn to explain their position on the matters being discussed, considering the pros and cons of different ideas. The student will enhance their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, and acquire practical knowledge in the fields of Russian vocabulary, grammar and phonetics. The materials for the course are prepared using the communicative approach.
The student’s workload:
contact hours (in class) - 60 hours
preparing for classes - 30 hours
preparation for exam - 30 hours
Total: 120 hours (4 ECTS)
If it is not possible to conduct classes on university premises, classes shall be held with the aid of distance learning tools, most likely Google Meet and others recommended by the University of Warsaw.

Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will:
- know and understand Russian both spoken and written in accordance with the requirements set for the B2+ level of the CEFR (K2_W11)
- be able to communicate via speaking and writing in Russian in accordance with the requirements set for the B2+level of the CEFR (K2_U14)
Assessment criteria
Requirements for getting a credit for the subject in order to sit the final written credit:
- active participation during classes
- being prepared for classes
- passing tests
- giving a presentation
Criteria for assessing tests and the exam (percentage thresholds):
99-100% - 5!
93-98% - 5
87-92% - 4+
77-86% - 4
70-76% - 3+
60-69% - 3
The student has the right to 3 unexcused absences, and each subsequent one requires an explanation to be given. The teacher decides how the student will make up for any other unjustified absences.
