Ukrainian culture facing the challenges of modern times 3222-KUWW-OG
The course is dedicated to the analysis of contemporary Ukrainian culture in the context of social, political, and globalization-related transformations. The program includes a discussion of the main phenomena and trends in art, literature, film, music, theatre, digital culture, and everyday life in Ukraine after 1991, with particular emphasis on the period after 2014 and 2022.
The aim is to show how Ukrainian culture responds to the challenges of the present—such as globalization, migration, transformations of national identity, and processes of Europeanization. Participants will become familiar with tools for interpreting contemporary cultural phenomena and will develop critical thinking skills regarding the role of culture in shaping collective memory, community, and social solidarity.
