Anthropology of literature 3222-AL5K-OG
During the classes we will deepen the knowledge in the field that is most often treated as a sub-discipline of literary studies and is related to the theory of literature. We will try to read selected texts from contemporary Ukrainian literature as manifestations of the record of human experience, as a source of cognition of man, his cultural entanglement, in line with the thesis of one of the main theorists of literary anthropology - Ryszard Nycz, that literature is "an institutionalized art of expressing the human experience of reality - in the whole its diversity and specificity ”(Nycz 2006, p. 32). By analyzing specific works (in the context of the indicated theoretical texts), we will pay attention to the mechanisms governing human behavior and the ways of creating the presented world, including the language of the characters, with the help of which they create their truth about reality, about the time in which they live.

Assessment criteria
The condition for admission to pass the course is attendance (in accordance with the Study Regulations at the University of Warsaw)
The student has the right to 2 unexcused absences, each subsequent one requires a justification. The lecturer decides whether to acknowledge the absence.
The form of crediting the classes in which the student was absent is determined by the lecturer.
Exceeding justified and unjustified absences for 50% of classes may be the basis for failing the course.
Written credit in the form of a term paper.
Semester work requirements:
1. The author should formulate a research problem, that is, make a thesis which he will try to verify (prove or disprove) in the work.
2. Before starting to write a thesis, its plan and the list of literature should be consulted with the teacher.
3. The paper should be 6-8 pages of standard text, ie the length should not be less than 10,800 characters with spaces and greater than 18,000 characters with spaces (including footnotes). The work should contain a list of the used bibliography (the volume of the list of the used bibliography does not, however, be included in the volume of the work specified above).
4. The structure of the work should include: introduction, development, ending, bibliography. The introduction should include: thesis (formulation of the research problem), objectives of the work, justification for the choice of topic, description of the subject and subject literature. - achievement of the assumed learning outcomes covering all important aspects - 5.0 (very good)
- achievement of the assumed learning outcomes covering all significant aspects with a small number of errors or inaccuracies - 4.5 (good plus grade)
- achievement of the assumed learning outcomes, omitting some (less important) aspects - 4.0 (good)
- achievement of the assumed learning outcomes with the omission of some important aspects and with significant inaccuracies - 3.5 (satisfactory plus)
