Development of communicative competence in the Ukrainian language (B1) 3222-30KKKU3C[B1]-OG
The course aims to develop the ability to read texts with appropriate accent and pronunciation, develop a general understanding of written and spoken texts, express content learned in class in textual or auditory form, and produce grammatically correct oral and written (simple) expressions. Students can express their own opinions using the vocabulary and knowledge acquired during classes, as well as communicate in typical social situations. Students can create coherent statements on topics that interest them.
Student workload
120 hours of classroom work - 4 ECTS
90 hours of class preparation - 3 ECTS
Preparation for the final test - 30 hours - 1 ECTS

Learning outcomes
K1_W09 - Fluency in Ukrainian, both oral and written, in accordance with the requirements for level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
K1_U09 - Communicate orally and in writing in Ukrainian, in accordance with the requirements for level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
K1_U12 - Plan and organize individual and team work.
Assessment criteria
Conditions for admission to the final exam:
- continuous assessment, i.e., active participation in classes
- class attendance
- systematic preparation of assigned material for classes
- timely completion of homework assignments
- passing the assessment tests
Written test:
99% -100% - 5! (very good grade with an exclamation mark)
96% - 98% - 5 (very good grade)
87% - 95% - 4+ (good plus grade)
78% - 86% - 4 (good grade)
69% - 77% - 3+ (satisfactory plus grade)
60% - 68% - 3 (satisfactory grade)
Students are allowed two unexcused absences; any subsequent absences require a justification. The instructor determines whether an absence is recognized. The form of credit for classes from which the student was absent is determined by the instructor. Exceeding 50% of the number of excused and unexcused absences may result in failing the course.
Students have the right to retake the exam in the same format as in the regular exam session, provided they receive a credit for the course.
