1. Podlasie – historical and ethnographical region. The geographical area and its ethnographical and musical structure.
2. History of research on the traditional music of Podlasie (XVIII - XXI century).
3. Classification of the songs. Language of Podlasie’s songs.
4. Voice as a communication tool. Basics of voice emission useful for performing traditional songs from Podlasie.
5. The tradition of ensemble and solo singing in Podlasie.
6. Calendar songs (winter songs, Christmas carols).
7. The ritual spring songs (easter carolling, sung recitations racyjki, spring songs wiosnianki).

Learning outcomes:
The student:
- Lists genres of Podlasie’s musical folklore,
- Shows the differences and similarities of the styles on the basis of audio portions,
- Explains the relationship between the voices and the principle of formation of polyphony in practice of team singing in Podlasie,
- Identifies and analyzes vocal techniques from Podlasie,
- Controls the form of songs during the performance,
- Plays selected species of the songs and presents the selected style – accurately reproducing sound and dialect.
