The main topics will include: anthropology and globalization; postmodernism; body in culture; age; biotechnology and eugenics; popular mythologies; mass- and popular culture; cultural studies; mass media; hyperreality etc.

Having completed the course, students:
- know the names of important figures in 20- and 21-century anthropology, sociology and philosophy;
- can find themselves within the plurality of current trends in social sciences;
- can analise selected issues in modern culture from the anthropological perspective.
