Intoduction to Latin and Greek Literature 3006-ZHLGiŁ1
The lecture is aimed at presenting synthetic outline of the history of both literatures with a special consideration of the famous ancient literary genres and of the most remarkable authors and works. The subject of the classes also includes perspectives and courses of modern literary researches. The lecture has an introductory character and its aim is to prepare the students to take part in the classes in the next literature course of studies.

In the range of knowledge
- distinguishes periodization, genealogy and the classical canon of the ancient literature authors;
- explains terminology of the methology of researches in the fields of classical philology;
- distinguishes periodization of the Greek and Roman history, the most important facts and the basic economic conditions
In the range of abilities
- recognizes different kinds of texts and works of ancient material and literary culture,
- does their critical analysis;
- interprets using the typical methods in order of describing their meanings, the social influence, the place in the historical and cultural proces, the artistic and cognitive values.
In the range of social competences
- describes the level of their knowledge and abilities, understands the need of constant studying and self-development.
