Public perception of new technologies 2700-NTOOP-OG
The course aims to discuss public opinion research concerning the development and use of new technologies such as artificial intelligence, social media, mobile technologies, and digital democracy. Students will learn about methods for measuring attitudes toward technology, trust in digital tools, and generational differences in their perception.
As part of the course, participants will analyze selected national and international research reports (CBOS, LBM UW, Eurobarometer, Pew Research Center, Gallup, KPMG). Special emphasis will be placed on the practical application of survey methods. Students will complete 8 hours of practical training in the CATI studio as public opinion interviewers and 2 hours of preparatory training between 20-24 april 2026 (12:00–20:00).

Assessment methods and criteria
• Participation in CATI research – mandatory involvement as a public opinion interviewer (minimum 8 hours in the LBM UW CATI studio) and participation in preparatory training (2 hours).
• Reading summary – students prepare a short written note (up to 5 sentences) answering the question: “What do you consider the most important aspect of the report?”
Requirement:
Participation in CATI research is a condition for passing the course.
