1. Diversity in the organization - basic concepts and definitions (2 hours)

• The concept and essence of diversity;
• Diversity contexts;
• Dimensions of diversity (primary and secondary).

2. Inclusion and diversity - the cultural dimension (1 hour)
• The idea of inclusion - assumptions;
• Multiculturalism - historical outline, practical and theoretical aspects.

3. Diversity in the organization - demographic, social and economic context (2 hours)

• Demographic conditions for diversity;
• Legal conditions for diversity;
• Socio-cultural determinants for diversity;
• Economic conditions for diversity.

4. Diversity management - basic concepts and definitions (2 hours)

• Definition of diversity management;
• Introduction to managing diverse human resources in an organization - assumptions;
• Diversity management - science, practice or art?

5. Models of implementing diversity management in the organization (2 hours)

• The essence of management at the organizational level;
• The essence of management at the process level;
• The essence of management at the position level.

6. Organizational culture and communication for diversity management in the organization (2 hours)

• The essence of organizational culture;
• The role of communication in managing diversity in an organization;
• The essence of management at the position level.

7. Diverse human resources in the organization - approaches and strategies (2.5 hours)

• The role of leadership;
• Human resource management and diversity management in an organization;
• Education and training in the field of diversity in the organization;
• Monitoring and analyzing the diversity in the organization;
• Create a diversified workplace;
• implementation barriers;
• Good practices.

8. Diversity management in the organization - benefits and costs (2.5 hours)

• The nature of the benefits of implementing diversity management;
• Types of costs of implementing diversity management.

9. Summary and crediting of the classes (2 hours):
• Summary of the classes;
• Preparation for the exam.

After completing the course, the student:

Knows and understands the basic terminology used in diversity management;

Knows and understands the role and place of diversity management in the organization;
Has knowledge of the basic functions of diversity management in the organization;

Knows and understands demographic, social, legal and economic processes and phenomena and their impact on managing the diversity of organizations;

Knows and understands the basic principles of creating and developing various activities for the benefit of diverse human resources in the organization;

Can analyze and explain the basic stages of the processes of planning, organizing, motivating and controlling diversity management in an organization;
Is able to use the knowledge of diversity management to identify, diagnose and solve problems in the organization:

Can explain and evaluate the influence of leadership on the possibilities of creating a diversified workplace;
Can define the relationship of an organization and its functions with diversity management;

Assessment criteria

Lecture: exam - in the form of an examination test, defining the final grade as a whole.
Method of calculating the grade for the exam test:
 0 - 59% rating 2.0
 60 - 67% rating 3.0
 68 - 75% rating 3.5
 76 - 83% rating 4.0
 84 - 91% rating 4.5
 92 - 100% rating 5.0
Persons who have not passed the final examination may take the resit examination in the resit session.
