The following topics will be addressed in the course: multi-specialist assessment of student functioning, diagnosis of special developmental and educational needs of children and adolescents; work with students with special educational needs; support for student functioning in a group; adaptation of students perceived as different; resolving conflicts in a group, peer mediation; critical situations in the classroom/school; aggression and violence phenomena and the influence of informal groups; managing a school class; teacher-leader; teamwork of teachers and principles of communication at school; work with parents/guardians in the field of education and upbringing; educational program; threats to children and adolescents, addictions (including addiction to psychoactive substances and computers); tutoring; personalization of teaching; career counseling; self-development and quality of teacher's work; school documents and procedures; educational facilities and institutions supporting teacher's work; characteristics and tasks of a teacher engaging students (e.g. as part of cooperative learning).
