Integration and Globalization in International Politics 2100-ERASMUS-IGIP
Full Description: During the course students will study the concept, essence, theories and types of international integration and its regional features in historical perspective (EU, North American region, NAFTA, Asia-Pacific region, ASEAN, South America, LAVT, MERCOSUR, Africa, etc).
The concept and essence of globalization as a social phenomenon, social aspects of modern global transformations, ideological transformations of the modern world and world system global transformations will be analyzed. Global problems of modern times, their classification, such as the problem of peacekeeping, demographic problems, the problem of overcoming poverty and backwardness, environmental problems, the problem of human trafficking, international terrorism will be analyzed. The international organizations as a mechanism for regulating world system relations and ensuring global security will be discussed during the classes.
By the end of this course, students will have a deep understanding of the concepts, theories, and regional features of international integration, as well as the social and ideological aspects of globalization. They will critically analyze global issues such as peacekeeping, poverty, environmental challenges, and international terrorism, while evaluating the role of international organizations in regulating global relations and ensuring security

2. Examine globalization as a social phenomenon, including its social, economic, and ideological impacts on modern global transformations.
3. Critically assess major global challenges, such as peacekeeping, demographic shifts, poverty, environmental issues, and international terrorism, and understand their classifications and implications.
4. Analyze the role and effectiveness of international organizations in regulating global relations and addressing contemporary global security concerns.
5. Apply theoretical frameworks to analyze case studies of regional integration and global issues, enhancing problem-solving and policy analysis skills.

Assessment: Students will be evaluated through a combination of active participation in the classes discussions and two group presentations focusing on the Regional features of international integration and Global problems
