Geoinformation in everyday life 1900-GIwZC(KC)-OG
During computer laboratory sessions, students will acquire knowledge about geoinformation and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), with particular emphasis on webGIS. The course will present online GIS tools and applications, including geosearch engines and geoportals, which facilitate the retrieval and analysis of spatial data in various real-world contexts.
Course Program
• Understanding the concepts of geoinformation, GIS, and webGIS.
• Applying geosearch engines for working with spatial data.
• Exploring spatial data infrastructure and spatial datasets.
• Accessing spatial information through geoportals and Polish geodetic and cartographic resources.
• Utilizing OpenStreetMap for spatial analysis and applications.
• Developing investment location analyses with online tools.
• Creating online geovisualizations of spatial data.
